MY STORY

My name is Camille Thirifay, I am a Belgian visual artist born in 1996 in Brussels. I moved to Barcelona in 2021 and fell in love with this vibrant city, of which I get very inspired. Shortly after that, I stepped into the skateboarding scene and its amazing vibe and community. Quickly, I realised that I could actually turn waste (used skateboard decks) into art, giving them a second life outside of the skateparks.

My work is characterised by colourful organic shapes inspired by nature and architecture. Thought my art, I explore different techniques, materials, and color relationships, working mainly with acrylics, oils, and ceramics. I am constantly experimenting and expanding my practice, currently incorporating textured surfaces, reliefs, and airbrushing into my work.

At its core, my art speaks about sustainability, movement, culture, and creative freedom. By using skateboards as my canvas, I aim to build bridges between art and skateboarding, while encouraging more women to discover skating through an approach that is playful, colourful, and accessible.

The beginning of 2023, marked a turning point in my artistic carrer : I picked up a tattoo machine for the first time. It took me a few months to feel comfortable tattooing at a professional level, develop my own style and figure out what techniques I enjoyed tattooing on a daily basis (which is actually on a constant evolution). My style is composed of a lot of fine lines and dot work, creating texture, contrasts but also solid black. I enjoy tattooing flowers, ornaments, stars and many of my designs are composed of abstract forms. I use a tattoo rotary machine, but I intend to learn how to stick and poke very soon; I find the result so beautiful and it causes less trauma to the skin. Stay tuned!

I started my tattooingcareer at BalamStudio at the beginning of 2025. Since January 2026, I took part of BonitoLoJusto team. I get so much fun bringing my work onto people’s skin and meeting new people every day, and I hope I will do so for many more years.

ABOUT ME

I have always liked painting and drawing, since I was a child. But my very first passion was dancing; I practiced ballet, jazz, contemporary and hip hop for many years. Although, I chose to follow a quite traditional career path. I studied international trade and graduated with a master in management, back in Brussels. Art has always been an intricate part of my life, but it is only when I got to Barcelona that it manifested as a mandatory way of expression of my emotions, and the best way to connect to my peers.

I consider myself a down to earth and determined person. I can sometimes get crazy, but most of the time I tend to be serious (I laugh a lot don't get me wrong). I am caring and loving, always present for the people I love. I naturally thrive to make new encounters and constantly talk with people. I have a dynamic and positive personality, always keen to learn and try new things; indeed, I get bored easily... which makes me start new hobbies all the time !

I also enjoy analog photography. I mainly shoot beaches, architecture and moments of life, especially when it comes to skateboarding and art event and lifestyle.
